Wood

Pressure-treated wood docks are the most commonly used docking system. There are many wood sizes and treatments available to meet a range of specifications. Wood flexes with the water, allowing for use in rougher situations and the ability to withstand salt-water applications. Light-duty to heavy-duty wood dock frames are available in many different treatment options.

› Suitable for most water environments
› Often lower initial costs compared to other types
› Easy to cut and modify for unique designs

RPF Series

These floating dock frames are completely built with reinforced polymeric framing and decking board WearDeck material. Our patent-pending RPF series docks use WearDeck profile boards made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic reinforced with fiberglass that provides exceptional strength and rigidity. WearDeck reinforced polymeric decking enhances the overall durability and longevity of the dock system by being water and weatherproof, slip and stain-resistant, heat-reflective, and impervious to mold, mildew, and insects. Steel Truss

Steel Truss docks are designed for maximum strength, using horizontal and vertical angle supports, diagonal round bar supports, corner gussets mitered and seam-welded, and pre-punched holes for easy attachment of hardware. Steel Truss docks offer a higher 12" frame profile, which is good for applications with larger/taller boats, rougher waters, or where a sturdy dock is needed. Steel Truss docks are easy to maintain and can be used in certain salt-water applications.

› Extremely strong and durable
› Galvanized coated to provide long-lasting service
› Heavier, which provides a more stable platform

Steel Channel

Our Patented Steel Channel Dock utilizes a 6" low-profile box frame system that is strong, easily configurable, and can be used for floating or stationary dock applications. Steel Channel docks can come fully assembled or in kit form partially assembled to make constructing easier and less time consuming.

› Shorter 6” tall profile
› Less expensive than steel truss

Dip Your Toe Into Customer Reviews

Allow me to extend my gratitude and recognize American Muscle Docks for the outstanding work the company did in building our dock. The work was meticulous, efficient, and affordable, and the quality was outstanding. It was an absolutely enjoyable experience to associate with the employees.

Frank Americo, Inc.

Vermont Docks LLC has been using AMD steel frames for years. The quality and available dimensions are very dependable. The variety of sizes and shapes allows us to provide clever solutions for our clients. The strength of the frames gives us confidence our clients won’t be disappointed. Their service is fast, and this makes it easy to make a profit in our short season.

Jeff New England Marine

With their heavy-duty hardware, I was able to virtually eliminate the twisting of the fingers and stiffen them against the impacts from the not-so-good boat drivers mooring at the dock. The consistency of the hole spacing and fabrications allowed me to accurately predrill and preassemble the frames. I could not have asked for a better product. We very much appreciate the efforts of the good folks at American Muscle Docks!

David Atlanta Water Ski Club

Wow... We live in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, and have waited a LONG time for the floating docks. The ones AMD made are SUPER! They not only look good but the rollers will let them glide up and down on our not-so-plum (straight) cement pilings.

Common Questions

What coating is applied to the hardware?

All metal is galvanized, which is the process of applying zinc coating to steel or iron, in order to prevent rusting.

What is the difference between composite, plastic, and reinforced polymeric decking?

Composite decking contains organic and synthetic ingredients. It usually includes recycled wood and plastic content, such as sawdust and post-consumer plastics. Composite decking is known for deteriorating the wood material within the board, typically holding more heat, and cannot be placed underwater.

Plastic decking is usually made of a mixture of recycled plastics like polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Without any reinforcing materials inside, this decking will get flimsy when hot and is known to expand and contract the greatest amount.

WearDeck Reinforced Polymeric decking is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) strengthened with fiberglass, which provides exceptional toughness and rigidity. The added fiberglass reinforces the overall board and lessens any expansion or contraction, ultimately acting as rebar does when added to concrete.

What is the best dock type?

The type of dock you should install will depend on your specific needs. The pros at American Muscle Dock are here to help you choose the right dock for your needs, whether it’s steel, wood, RPF, or aluminum.
